A few years ago, life was pretty much simple for action camera owners. GoPro just made a single model, and so you didn’t have to decide about anything – the decision was straightforward.
But since the world-leading brand started making the Hero 3 cameras, GoPro had a wider range of concurrent models. Today, the situation is perhaps even more complicated. There are multiple high-quality devices to choose from, and things can get really complicated especially if you’re not sure what you’re looking for. Currently, there is a total of six different models in circulation. The first one is the Hero, Hero+, Hero+ LCD, Hero 4 Black, Hero 4 Silver and Hero 4 Session.
GoPro Hero 3 Models
GoPro’s previous range of Hero 3 camera models – comprising the Hero 3 White, Hero 3+ Silver and Hero 3+ Black – are also available. They are sold alongside newer versions on major e-commerce marketplaces, including Amazon.com. So what’s the real difference between these particular models? One might wonder. Well, each device has a unique set of features that affects its capabilities as well as its price. Today, GoPro never makes or sells the GoPro Hero 3 and 3+ range of devices. But these models are still widely available. GoPro online fans have been arguing that stocks might start running out soon. The Hero 3 White models were introduced in October 2012. They feature 1080p30 resolution and were initially selling at a price of $225. In October 2013 came the GoPro Hero 3+ Silver, which featured 1080p60 and sold at $300. The GoPro Hero 3+ Black was also introduced in the same month. It had 4k at 15fps and sold for roughly $374.
